The new R8 Spyder combines impressive performance, sporty elegance and the thrill of open-air driving with a 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine that produces 540 or 610 hp. The R8 Spyder rockets from 0-100 km/h in under 4 seconds, while you listen to the glorious noise of its mid-mounted, fire breathing engine. And, with a 7-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission at your fingertips, you control the soundtrack emanating from the available sport exhaust system.

Top down performance.

Opening up new perspectives: the soft top on the R8 Spyder is fully automatic and can be operated at speeds up to of 50 km/h and stowed in 20 seconds. The driving and wind noise are significantly lower than in previous iterations. With the roof open, a wind deflector made of synthetic fabric ensures that the air turbulence overhead is kept to a minimum. Experience the freedom of open-top driving the way it was meant to be. 

The engine: a ferocious symphony.

The centre of attention at the centre of the car. The mid-mounted 5.2 V10 FSI engine sends power to all four wheels. With a specially developed quattro system, the R8 Spyder V10 destroys 0-100 km/h in under 4 seconds and doesn't stop until you're over 300km/h. With an automatic stop/start system and intelligent cylinder on-demand technology, only the performance is earth shattering.

The design: turn heads.

Lower, shorter and wider than its predecessor, the new R8 Spyder tugs at the heartstrings. The 3D-effect honeycomb grille pairs perfectly with the sharp LED daytime running lights to create a menacing look. Strong shoulder lines, with hidden door handles, flow into the iconic side blades and over the muscular rear haunches to reveal striking LED tail lights, functional rear diffuser and trapezoidal exhaust tips. Drawing from its motorsport DNA, the R8 Spyder is a race car for the road.


The cockpit: Streamlined and efficient.

The interior focuses entirely on the driver. All functions are easily controlled via the standard R8 sports leather steering wheel or the optional R8 performance leather steering wheel with multi-function plus and two or four control satellites. The standard Audi virtual cockpit displays all relevant information in high resolution 3D graphics on a 12.3-inch monitor. And, for an impressive sound experience, speakers from the Bang & Olufsen Sound System are integrated into the R8 sports seats or R8 body-contoured seat headrests. Each seat contains two speakers - for the best acoustics beyond the 200-km/h mark.
