2019 Audi Q8 Review

The 2019Audi Q8 was born to be an instant design classic, blending elegant and sporty style with the utility of a full-size SUV. This is the Audi Toronto drivers have been talking about since it was announced, and we're excited to have it for sale later this year here at Audi Midtown Toronto. Based on the advanced reviews, this new Audi flagship will be more than worth the wait. Call us today at 866-981-1974 to get on the list to be notified as soon as one is available to test drive.

The all-new Q8 takes pride of place in the SUV coupe class, a category that describes SUVs with sporty dimensions and performance. The Q8 shares its basic underpinnings with the well-regarded Audi Q7, but it's lower and wider for a sportier stance and athletic handling. Its exterior features the wide Audi grille, cat-like LED headlights, and taut sheet metal that stretches tight over the Q8's muscular flanks. It's distinctly an Audi, combining the best of sports coupe styling and a rugged SUV appearance.

Practicality to Go With Its Looks

Despite its sporty appearance, the Audi Q8 provides all the useful qualities that you would expect from a full-size SUV. With its 4.99-meter (16.4 foot) length, rear hatch, and folding rear seats, the Q8 sports a cargo capacity of 1,755 litres (62.0 cubic feet). Even with the rear seats up, the Q8's cargo area can still hold a pair of golf bags lying flat or a long weekend's worth of luggage. All told, there's more interior room than most of the Q8's competitors. The rear seats also slide back and forth so you can maximize either cargo space or rear seat legroom.

The Interior

Hop into the Q8's driver's seat and you'll experience Audi's latest generation interior. Tastefully sleek, the cabin is focused on the driving experience. At the centre of this experience is the Virtual Cockpit, a 12.3-inch TFT instrument panel display that you can customize to your preferences. For instance, you can have your Google Earth Navigation appear here so that it's right in line with your view of the road. There are two more screens in the center console: a 10.1-inch screen for the infotainment system and a smaller screen below that with vibrating haptic touch points for controlling vehicle functions. This lower screen also functions like a tablet that lets you hand-write navigation lookups or search for restaurants.

Of course, since this is an Audi, you can expect performance to go with the Q8's looks. The Q8's get-up-and-go comes from a 335 hp, 3.0-litre V6 with Audi's mHEV mild hybrid technology for a fuel efficiency boost. The Q8 puts this power to the ground via an 8-speed automatic transmission linked to Audi's all-wheel-drive system. Four-wheel steering is optional for extra manoeuvrability, and an adjustable height suspension lets you choose between a higher, 10-inch setting for off-roading and a lower setting for performance driving. An available trailer control feature gives you a bird's-eye view of your Q8 and its trailer to make it easier to back a boat into the water. With this system, your Q8 will even handle the steering during tricky manoeuvres, so you'll only need to work the gas and brakes.
